Hearts and Trumpets

Hearts and Trumpets

This Loretta Spears Designs chart was published in May 1996.  It is worked on ash rose canvas with two types of Kreinik metallic in an open stitch.

This piece was stitched by the Diet Pepsi and Xanax blog. The blog notes the original canvas color was rose but the stitcher saved that to resell with the design on eBay later and went with green instead.

Close Up of Hearts and Trumpets

The Needleart Nut provided this closeup of the photo.  The original lavender look of the photo shows better here.

Materials List:

6 x 6 inch Ash Rose #18 mono canvas
Kreinik braid size 16, #013
Kreinik 1/16 inch ribbon, #013

Note that Kreinik 013 is now Beige.  It is likely judging from the photograph that some shade of pink or fuchsia was the original color to match the ash rose canvas (a dusty pink color).

St. Patrick's Day (Loretta Spears Designs) - March 1992

St. Patrick's Day, March 1992
St. Patrick's Day, published in March 1992 under the Loretta Spears Designs name, is an egg shaped ornament done in green, silver and white.

There is another St. Patrick's Day ornament chart, published in March 1995 under the Loretta Spears Designs name.  It is a square ornament.
https://lorettaspears.blogspot.com/2012/07/st-patricks-day-loretta-spears-designs.html

There is also a Christmas Heirlooms design chart published in March 1992 that is nearly identical but with a green mono canvas and different beads.  I suppose Loretta changed the name of the original 1992 St. Patrick's design and changed some supplies because she also has that March 1995 St. Patrick's Day ornament under the Loretta Spears Designs name.

Christmas Heirlooms March 1992 Ornament

Christmas Heirlooms March 1992

A new ornament has turned up on eBay, the Christmas Heirlooms March 1992 ornament, which is an egg-shaped design in green and white on 18 count mono canvas.  The ornament itself is 2 3/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches according to the seller.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/123231190578?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&fromMakeTrack=true

I've seen this as a Loretta Spears Designs chart called St. Patrick's Day published in March 1992 that uses 18 count mono with no color listed and Mill Hill beads.  There appear to be two versions of this design, in other words.  It is possible that Loretta renamed this design and changed the supplies used because there is also a St. Patrick's Day ornament in March 1995 under the Loretta Spears Designs name.
https://lorettaspears.blogspot.com/2018/08/st-patricks-day-loretta-spears-designs.html

The auction bidding starts at $9.99 plus $3 for "standard shipping."  Included are the chart and what appears to be the original Santa Fe green mono canvas with Loretta's LS logo.    Many thanks to Aggiestitcher for the photographs.

The Antique Thread Winder Sampler Stitched...

The Needleart Nut is going to stitch Loretta's Antique Thread Winder Sampler on her blog.  Stay tuned!
http://needleartnut.blogspot.com/2018/03/antique-thread-winder-sampler.html

She is using white Congress cloth and ThreadworX overdyed floss and perle cotton in a pale lavender/mint green mix with a touch of pink.  Very springtime!
http://needleartnut.blogspot.com/2018/03/overall.html

You can see as Pat works the design that it really is a band sampler.  Each row changes to a different pattern, and sometimes a different thread.

Two more, and a start on a series of darning patterns.
http://needleartnut.blogspot.com/2018/03/two-more.html

The darning patterns are very pretty!

The side and bottom borders are very pretty as well. They are unusual.

Here is the final result with an old mother of pearl thread winder attached in the bottom right corner.

Once Pat's version is framed I'll post a link here.
