Mystery #6 "Versatility"

Mystery #6 "Versatility", Courtesy of Lara Hartley

Mystery #6 - "Versatility" - is a stitching accessory bag, to be finished in a tri-fold bag, with enough light grey, 23 congress cloth included for you to add a needle case and pin cushion. Threads are overdyed floss, Anchor floss, Lacquered Jewel, metallics, and Japanese Toho beads. The colors are teal and mauve.

Mystery #11 "My Chatelaine" was designed as a companion to this piece and uses the same colors and threads.

LH's Versatility Underway

Lara at the "Diet Pepsi and Xanax" blog is stitching this piece in the original colors on a piece of 20 x 12 inch gray congress cloth (using 24 count--I understand you used to be able to get 23 count Congress cloth and sometimes you still find a piece of 23 count but 24 count is usually what is available).  Here are her postings, in date order, with a photograph of the threads needed in this first entry.  The closeups are wonderful and show the variety of stitches in this piece beautifully.

UPDATE: Lara has removed her blog so I think all the links below are dead.  Sorry.

At this point Lara deviated from the instructions, substituting a stitch that was easier in a small space.

She is worried about running out of the Needle Necessities overdyed floss even though she has two skeins.
